Who am I?

Victoria/ Vicki / Vee / Βίκυ here.

I’m an under 20s student with a strong passion for literature and photography, and an unhealthy obsession with music, chocolate and Mumford&Sons. I waste valuable time which I should really use studying by taking and developing old-style film photography in dark rooms, procrastinating on my 8tracks and trying to teach myself the guitar. I adore Literature of all kinds, and am a big fan of poetry- the poetry of Sylvia Plath and Cavafy is some of my favourite: I spend my time drinking tea, quoting Sylvia and blasting classical music whilst doing so. I love sunny Greek weather and am definitely not a morning person. Also, Souvlakia is the way to go. Περιμένω πώς και πώς να ακολουθήσω τα όνειρά μου. Απλώς δεν το’χω καταφέρει ακόμη. Αλλά που θα πάει, μια μέρα.. Θα συνεχίσω να ελπίζω! 

                               

                                          And now I,

                           Foam to wheat, a glitter of seas

I really enjoy the beauty of the sea- I have lived close to it most of my life and seascapes hold a special place in my heart and I always long for summer to come so I can return to it. 

Ἡ Ἰθάκη σ᾿ ἔδωσε τ᾿ ὡραῖο ταξίδι. 

Χωρὶς αὐτὴν δὲν θά ῾βγαινες στὸν δρόμο. 

Ἄλλα δὲν ἔχει νὰ σὲ δώσει πιά.

Κι ἂν πτωχικὴ τὴν βρεῖς, ἡ Ἰθάκη δὲν σὲ γέλασε. 

Ἔτσι σοφὸς ποὺ ἔγινες, μὲ τόση πεῖρα, 
ἤδη θὰ τὸ κατάλαβες οἱ Ἰθάκες τὶ σημαίνουν.
